The College of Technology places a major focus on developing the student professionally as well as academically. Through applied academics and hands-on laboratory experiences, students learn technical skills to resolve practical problems. Emphasis is placed on transferring learning in the classroom to workplace solutions.

Work-Base Learning

Cooperative education (co-ops), internships, and other work-based learning experiences offer selected students an opportunity to explore different aspects of their chosen career area.
Through work-based experiences students discover if their career choice fits their expectations and gain practical work experience that builds on classroom learning.
The ISU Career Center works in collaboration with the College of Technology and industry partners to match students with appropriate work-based experiences.
