Degree and Non-degree Seeking

Ways to
apply for admission:
|
Applying to the School of Graduate Studies is easy. You can apply for graduate degree programs (master’s,
educational specialist, and doctoral), non-degree programs (certificates, licensure, license renewal, transition to
teaching, and workshops) as well as permission to take graduate courses as an Indiana State senior or guest in the
following three ways:
- Apply online: You can apply and pay the
admission application fee instantly online by going to the School of
Graduate Studies website by clicking
Apply Now.
- Apply by mail:
You may request and submit a print (hard) copy of the International
Student Admission Application Form by contacting the School of
Graduate Studies at the following address:

- Apply in person:
You can apply in person by visiting the School of Graduate Studies,
located in Tirey Hall, Room 183 and completing the application. The telephone number is 812-237-3005 or TOLL FREE at 1-800-444-4723.
Normally, upon receipt
of your application, you will receive an electronic response that
acknowledges receipt of your application and other communication from
the School of Graduate Studies within forty-eight (48) hours. Once
admitted, you will receive correspondence and instructions regarding
academic advisement and registration.
Academic Departments may have early deadlines and may
require additional application materials. Please check with the specific

committed to processing your application in a fast and courteous manner,
and will be happy to assist you in the application process. Once admitted,
you will receive correspondence and instructions regarding academic
advisement and registration. Please not that all application credentials
become the property of Indiana State University and are not returned to
the student.
| How to
apply for International Graduate Degree-Seeking Admission: |

Fill out the International Student Admission Application form, or the
online version, completely. It is very important that the applicant's
home address and telephone number be included. To apply
online
click
Apply Now.
- A check or international money
order for U.S. $35.00 exactly must accompany the application form,
payable by credit card, money order, cashier’s check, or bank check
negotiable in the United States, made payable to Indiana State
University. Applications/documents will not be processed prior to
receipt of the $35.00 fee. All applications, even from students who have
previously applied to ISU, must be accompanied by the $35.00 fee.
SIGNATURE FORM
- If you have applied online, sign
and mail the
Signature Form to the School of Graduate
Studies.
TRANSCRIPT & OFFICIAL CREDENTIAL EVALUATION
-
Submit official
academic records (transcripts)
and official diploma or certificate demonstrating successful
completion of a four-year bachelor degree program to the School of
Graduate Studies. Academic records for all universities attended
must be received in English and the native language.
- Provide on the
application for admission a complete educational history from secondary
school or your 13th year through the highest level of
education completed. Failure to list all institutions attended and
the dates of attendance could result in dismissal.
TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (TOEFL)
- International applications must submit the
Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), with a minimum
score of 550 of the regular paper-based examination, a 213 on the
computer-based examination, or 80 on the new iBT version. It should be
noted that international applicants from English-speaking countries or
former British colonies may be exempted from the above TOEFL
requirements. Please click Exempt Countries to view a detailed listing.
You may substitute the
TOEFL requirements by fulfilling one of the following:
A minimum score of 6.5 in the International
English Language Testing System (IELTS);
- Official
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores with a minimum score of 440
in the verbal section; or

Official transcripts showing an earned undergraduate
or graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution in the
United States; or
-
Intensive language training is available through the
INTERLINK Language Center
if the TOEFL score is less than 550.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
-
Financial support sufficient to cover the duration of the student's
first academic year of educational expenses must be demonstrated
before admission is granted and the I-20 eligibility document is
issued.

official bank statement or an official financial document
for proof of financial resources from all sponsors showing the
ability to cover expenses for your first academic year at Indiana
State University.
AFFIDAVIT OF FINANCIAL
SUPPORT
- All
applicants should supply an
Affidavit of Financial Support. Government sponsored
applicants must provide an official or certified copy of the
award, specifying validity for Indiana State University, listing
the expenses and fees covered by the award, beginning and ending
dates of study covered, the level/field of study, and the length
of the award. The address for billing must also be included.
Those applicants who are academically eligible yet fail to prove
adequate financial documentation will receive a
letter explaining that admission is delayed until the
University can be assured of the student's financial
support. Some applicants may be requested to deposit
funds in an account with the Indiana State University
Controller's Office prior to admission.

for master’s programs, and 5 for doctoral programs).

10. In addition to all of
the above, after you have applied, please send the following
information to our office:

A copy of the I-94 and the
I-20, or the DS-2019 if you hold a J-1 or J-2 Visa.

The name (s), birth date (s),
country of birth, and country of citizenship of
each dependent, including your spouse if they are accompanying
the applicant.

For identification purposes in
the U.S., your names on the U.S. immigration documents must match
the names on your passport. Abbreviations are; not acceptable. If your
names on this application do not match your
passport, please send a
brief letter of explanation.

International Graduate Non Degree-Seeking Admission: |
If you are
seeking Non-Degree Admission for a total distance education class or
program you must:
APPLICATION

Fill out the
