Our sports officials/supervisors are highly trained to provide the safest and fairest games possible. They meet regularly to discuss rules, problems, and new ideas. Many of the officials/supervisors are former athletes and have years of experience in their sports. Contact the Intramural Office Phone: 812-237-4095 Email: intsports@isugw.indstate.edu The Intramural Sports Official shall, to the best of his/her ability, officiate and/or keep accurate records and score of those contests sponsored by the Department of Recreational Sports, in accordance with the rules of the sport and the regulations of the department. Training Requirements: Any student who wishes to become an official must attend the training clinics and pass sport-specific tests for each sport they wish to officiate. He/she must also complete all payroll paperwork prior to working. Reports To: Assistant Director for Intramurals, and Graduate Assistants for Intramurals Pay Rate: $7.50 / hr Time: 2-15 hours per week Intramural Supervisor Contact Person: Hollie Adams, Assistant Director Intramurals Phone: 237-4095 Email: intsports@isugw.indstate.edu Job Description: The supervisor's time is divided between on-site supervision and officiating hours. Supervisors are assigned evening intramural sport supervision hours. (Monday-Thursday between the hours of 3:00pm-midnight, Sundays 2:00pm-midnight). Supervisors are also required to attend weekly meetings, all training clinics, and all officials' meetings. These students oversee all activities, participants, and student employees. Supervisors also have complete authority to deal with problems, injuries, or special situations during IM competition. Various duties include contacting participants, completing schedules, attending meetings, venue set-up, keeping standings, enforcing intramural and Recreational Sports rules and policies, filing final reports, and being responsible for the implementation of activities. Qualifications for supervisors include: knowledge of the sport rules and regulations, appropriate First Aid and CPR certifications, and a sincere interest in upholding the standards of the intramural program. Preferred experience: previous intramural official in flag football or basketball and in one other sport (soccer, softball, volleyball).Supervisors in Training complete all of the above tasks while working under veteran supervision. (usually hire at the end of the Fall semester or beginning of Spring semester) Reports To: Assistant Director for Intramurals, and Graduate Assistants for Intramurals Pay Rate: $7.75 / hr Time: 6 - 20 hours per week
