Indiana State University is engaged with AmeriCorps, the nation's domestic service program, through two initiatives.  Non-profit agencies in Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo counties can apply to become AmeriCorps partner host sites.  Non-profit agencies interested in becoming an AmeriCorps Host Site call
812-237-7900.

"So what's in it for you?"

Sycamore Service Corps
The Sycamore Service Corps places volunteers with local non-profit organizations to complete service terms of 300, 450, or 675 hours within an 11 month or less time frame.  The Program is a great opportunity for local residents or students to provide meaningful service to non-profit agencies and to make a difference in the community.  Volunteers accepted into the AmeriCorps Program become members and most receive a living allowance in exchange for their service.  Members also receive an education award upon completion of service ranging from $1,000-$1,800.  Excellent professional development and training are also benefits of participation in the Program.  For more information, see the position description and application.

Midwest Campus Compact Citizen-Scholar Fellowship Program (M3C)
Students who have received a Federal Work Study award are eligible to apply for the Sycamore Service Corps -- Midwest Campus Compact Citizen-Scholar Fellowship Program (M3C).  This program allows students to complete their work study placement for 300 hours at a local non-profit organization and earn hourly compensation plus an additional $1,000 education award from AmeriCorps.  Excellent professional development and training are also benefits of participation in the Program.  Students have one year to complete the 300 hours of service.  For more information, see the position description and application.
