CHARGE TO THE SEARCH COMMITTEE BY THE ISU BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

The Indiana State University Board of Trustees is charged with defining and carrying out the mission of Indiana State University with the fiduciary responsibilities implicit in that charge. To implement and administrate the activities and policies of Indiana State University, it is one of the foremost duties of the board to hire, interact with and evaluate a President of the University. Based upon the announcement of the President Lloyd W. Benjamin, III that he will conclude his term as the tenth president of Indiana State University effective June 30, 2008, the Board hereby appoints this Presidential Search Committee to assist with the identification of candidates to become the next President of Indiana State University.

To assist with the search and to provide counsel to the Presidential Search Committee as well as the Board of Trustees, the Board has engaged the services of William Funk of R. William Funk & Associates. The Board has also ratified the appointment of selected individuals to a Search Committee. This Search Committee is comprised of a diverse group of persons with associates from multiple facets of the University family.

The Board of Trustees will make the final selection of the next President of Indiana State University and will also be responsible for coordination of the negotiation and execution of an employment contract with the successful candidate.
