Windows 10 Update!
Windows 8 promotional image

Several months ago, we told you about the upcoming release of Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System.  We, and the rest of the world, are still waiting, but there have been some changes.

Previously, we talked about the return of the Start Menu and how Windows 10 will be usable on devices from PC’s to tablets to smart phones.  Now other exciting developments are being revealed.

First, Windows 10 will be a completely free upgrade for current Windows 7 and Windows 8 users who upgrade within a year of release.  Once you have upgraded, you will continue to receive updates for the supported life of your device.

Windows 10 will have Cortana, a talking personal digital assistant.  Cortana is currently available on the Windows Phone 8.1.  Through interaction with the user, Cortana will ‘learn’ about the user.  Information about the user will be stored on the device and can be edited to add or remove information.

Also coming is Spartan, the all new web browser.  Spartan has a note taking mode which allows the user to take notes and share on Facebook and Twitter.  It will also save reading content off line for access in airplane mode and will sync your reading list across all devices so you can read on your phone if you have saved on your pc.  Spartan also has an enhanced reading mode which clears clutter to present a more readable Web page.

Gaming will take a big step forward – With Windows 10, Xbox can be streamed on a desktop, laptop or tablet in your home on your local Wi-Fi.  All games can be played and a user can voice and text chat over all devices.  Users can also like and share comments.  Windows 10 will also save the last 30 seconds of the game, dvr style, as it does on Xbox.   And you will experience better graphics and game performance!

These are just a few of the newest features of Windows 10.  The rumored release date is sometime this Fall.  We will keep you posted!
