Mayor's Proclamation

WHEREAS: promotion of understanding and recognition of the inherent dignity and inalienable rights of all members of the human family are worthy ideals; and

 

WHEREAS: preservation and achievement of these ideals serves as the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace; and

WHEREAS: achieving social justice and human rights requires Freedom of Expression for All;
 

NOW, THEREFORE: I, Kevin D. Burke, Mayor of the City of Terre Haute, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, April 18, 2007, as
 
        HUMAN RIGHTS DAY


in Terre Haute, Indiana, and I call upon members of the community to participate in these activities.
