What is Anthropology?
The subject matter of
anthropology is far reaching
and includes everything that
has to do with human beings,
past and present.  It is
devoted to the study of all
peoples, regardless of where
or when they lived.  Because

of its encompassing nature it is divided into the subfields: archaeology, bioanthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistics.  Whatever their specialization, however, anthropologists are committed to a integrated approach to the study of human kind.

As an anthropology major you will be studying the archaeology of ancient cultures of the past, the discoveries by bioanthropologists of our 4 million year old fossil ancestors in Africa, and the unique cultures and languages of the world from the first hand view point of cultural anthropologists.
