CONSIDER GEOLOGY
AT INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM

The BS degree in geology is divided into three tracks: one emphasizing traditional studies in geology and two tracks emphasizing environmental studies.  Each track will prepare students for careers in the geoscience field or for graduate studies in geology.  Students may also complete a minor in geology.

Track A - General Geology

This track provides you with a broad background in geology and can be tailored to meet your specific interest.

Track B - Environmental Geology

This track is designed for students who wish to work as environmental geology/hydrogeologist in industry or for government agencies dealing with the distribution and quality of ground and surface water, pollution problems, waste disposal, and hazards such as flooding and erosion.

Track C - Surface Processes

Surface Processes Track C is designed for students wishing to pursue professional careers in the areas of land reclamation, surface water/soil/atmospheric contamination, and conservation of natural resources.
