Geology Program

Students pursuing a B.S. degree in geology have the option of completing one of three tracks: general geology, environmental geology, & surface processes.

The Geology Program at ISU provides hands-on field and laboratory experiences, with helpful, one-on-one guidance from faculty mentors. The diverse array of faculty ensures that students get broad training in the traditional geology disciplines and in earth science-related fields such as environmental geology, geochemistry, Quaternary sciences, paleoceanography, paleoecology, and geobiology.

The Geology Program also offers an M.S. in Earth and Quaternary Sciences as a thesis or non-thesis option.  The non-thesis option is designed as a professional degree for students wishing to enhance career opportunities.  The academic programs for both options require a minimum of 33 semester hours of graduate credits.
