The University's Sycamore Advantage Program (new student orientation) is the
first step in an amazing journey.
The program is a one-day experience that will help you learn more about Indiana State University
and the resources that can help you succeed academically, meet new friends, and learn about campus life.
Follow the links below for details—including how to register and schedules.
This event is REQUIRED for new freshmen and transfer students. Parents and families are encouraged to attend.
During the day you (and your family) will learn about the educational, cultural, and social opportunities available at ISU, receive academic advising, and register for fall classes. In addition, the Compass Test for math placement will be offered during Sycamore Advantage.
For parents, Sycamore Advantage helps them understand the University environment and services, and enhances their awareness of issues facing their college student. Sessions are held in conjunction with our student sessions throughout the month of June.
Note: PDF documents require free Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Lunch will be provided to students (and families) free of charge.
Students (and families) who choose to do so, may reserve overnight accommodations in one of the University's residence halls. Room rates (double occupancy) are $27 per student and $30 per family member. To reserve a room, contact residential life.
