The 2008 Summer Reading Program selection was unSpun: Finding Facts in a World of Disinformation by B. Jackson & K.H. Jamieson.

Chosen by ISU students and faculty, unSpun is the secret decoder ring for the 21st century world of disinformation.

Written by Brooks Jackson and Kathleen Hall Jamieson, the founders of the acclaimed website FactCheck.org, unSpun reveals the secrets of separating facts from disinformation, such as:

Telling fact from fiction shouldn't be a difficult task. With this book and a healthy dose of skepticism, anyone can cut through the haze of biased media reportage to be a savvier consumer and a better-informed citizen.

As part of the University Speakers Series, author and professor Kathleen Hall Jamieson spoke on the ISU campus on September 15, 2008. A book signing and reception in Heritage Lounge was held immediately following her talk.
