The 2009 Summer Bridge Program was a huge success.
Twelve incoming freshman participated in the program which strived to enhance their academic, leadership and social skills to ensure their success at Indiana State University.
All twelve students went through a rigorous three week period of classes, University 101 taught by Dr. Candace Hinton and English 101 taught by Mr. Aaron Morales. In addition, they traveled on field trips which promoted personal growth and participated in conferences such as the annual Indianapolis Black Expo.
Throughout their entire experience in the program, they were mentored and supported by five current undergraduate students: Michael Scott Jr. (senior), Cory Graham (recent graduate), Aaron Brown (sophomore), Jude Owolabi (junior), and Dwight Wharton (sophomore).
All twelve students successfully completed all the requirements of the Summer Bridge Program thanks to the dedication of everyone involved this year.
