Leadership Opportunities
Eligibility
Indiana State University students who have completed at least one semester are eligible to apply for one of the student leadership positions
offered through the University's Office of First Year Programs.
Types of Leadership Positions Available
Summer University Assistants:
- Facilitate small groups of new students and parents.
- Provide support and assistance to academic advisors.
- Acquaint new students with campus services, activities, and facilities.
- Aid in the development and implementation of Sycamore Advantage activities.
- Encourage the development of institutional pride.
- Serve as a positive role model for incoming students.
Fall University Assistant/ Learning Community Peer Assistants (LCPAs):
- Facilitate small groups of new students.
- Provide support and assistance to academic advisors and faculty.
- Acquaint new students with campus services, activities, and facilities.
- Aid in the development and implementation of Knowing Sycamores activities and Sycamore Advantage activities.
- Encourage the development of institutional pride.
- Work with faculty as a member of a Learning Community.
- Help students develop connections with ISU and peer groups.
- Serve as a positive role model for incoming students.
