Each year, Indiana State University hosts an opening Convocation—an all-campus ceremony that serves as the official beginning of the school year for new students.
It marks the beginning of each student's collegiate journey and ushers them into our community of scholars. This event underscores the significance of this transitional moment in the lives of incoming students and families. It also magnifies and signals the seriousness with which faculty, administration, and the ISU community regards entry into this collegiate experience.
At last year's 2009 Convocation, students received t-shirts to wear during the ceremony and participated in "March Through the Arch" where they were greeted by University officials, faculty members, the Marching Sycamores, and an evening of fund and excitement at Sycamore Sundae.
