THE TEAM SYCAMORE RACING STORY
Kyle Neilsen is an ISU senior double majoring in automotive technology management and marketing, collaborating with Dr. Randy Peters, Kyle used his education and passion for racing to develop and implement the plans for launching Team Sycamore Racing.
Accepted as a student organization in January of 2007, Team Sycamore Racing's continuing dual purpose is to promote motorsports at ISU and give students the ultimate hands-on experience. Students associated with the Team operate, manage and drive the TSR dragster. The team competes in National Hot Rod Association(NHRA) sanctioned races in a given state region.
Team Sycamore Racing is not just for Automotive Engineering students. It brings together students in degree programs all across campus: finance, accounting, insurance, marketing, public relations, sport management, graphic design, business management, and others. ISU also offers technology degrees in manufacturing industrial safety, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Technology. the Automotive Technology four-year degree program is central to motorsports at ISU.
With experience from Team Sycamore Racing and academics from the motorsports management minor, Indiana State University students know how their degree will work in motorsports.
