B.S. in Electronics Technology
ISU’s Electronics Technology major optimizes the practical learning experience to clarify and support the theoretical design of electrical and electronic circuits,
components, and systems. Use of modern design techniques, computer modeling, state-of-the-art laboratory experiences,
and small learner oriented classes help each student reach their fullest potential. You may earn a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in electronics technology or a two-year associate degree in electronics and computer technology.
Majoring in one of the programs offered by the
department provides you with opportunities to:
-
work with modern equipment
-
enjoy small class sizes
-
receive instruction from a full-time faculty member
-
have life-time access to services of the
University's Career Center
-
have the opportunity for internship and
professional practice experiences
Course Curriculum
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Electronics Technology program at Indiana State University is a model of experiential learning.
Classes are structured to provide a maximum of hands-on laboratory based experience for the learner from their very first introductory course through the final completion of the program of study.
This serves to prepare the graduate for immediate application based positions in the “real world.” Both a practitioner’s and a theorist’s degree, the program provides technical and managerial skills. Among technical subjects studied are electronics,
circuit analysis, electronic devices and instrumentation design, industrial electronic pulse circuits, and programmable logic controllers. Managerial study in computer systems management, industrial organization,
and industrial supervision is combined with technical competence to create a program of quality and diversity.
As a technically competent person with excellent social and leadership skills, you will be qualified to move into a promising professional career.
ADDTIONAL PROGRAM OPTIONS
You may choose to reinforce the major in Electronics Technology with a minor in Computer Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business. Additionally, students may choose to complete a second bachelor’s or a double major in Computer Engineering Technology or an associate degree in Electronics and Computer Technology.
