Welcome message from Chairperson
It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the informational web pages for the Department of Electronics, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering Technology (ECMET).
Our department has five Bachelor of Science programs: Electronics Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automation and Control Engineering Technology, and Automotive Technology Management. Additionally, we offer minors in Electronics Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Aided Design and Drafting, and an Associate Degree in Electronics and Computer Technology. At the graduate level, we offer a Master of Science degree in Electronics and Computer Technology, and we participate in the college’s Ph.D. in Technology Management degree program and Master of Science in Industrial Technology. In addition to these programs, our department collaborates with other academic units across campus to offer a ISU’s Baccalaureate degree in Information Technology.
Our graduates compete for and are awarded some of the best positions available in industry, business, and government. Many are now employed by corporations such as Cummins, Great Dane Trailers, Unison, Caterpillar, Merck Pharmaceutical, Crane Naval Depot, Cinergy, Hewlett-Packard Company, AT&T, Rockwell International, Hughes Aircraft, TRW, Square D, Delco Remy, Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, Emerson Electric, Boeing, IBM, General Dynamics, Bemis Corporation, Sony DADC, Whirlpool, Sallie Mae, CSN Steel, Indiana University, USAF and many others.
It would be my pleasure to give you a personal tour of our laboratories, talk about transfer credit from another university, go into detail about courses within our programs, explain our "hands-on" philosophy of teaching and learning, or introduce opportunities of applied research with some of our faculty
