The L.P.N. to B.S. Track can be completed through a combination of distance learning courses offered by Indiana State University and Ivy Tech Community College. Selected courses may be satisfied entirely by ISU departmental challenge exams (credit by examination), course equivalency examinations, and (if applicable) transfer credit earned from an associate or bachelor degree program. Clinicals are arranged in the student's community. Campus visit are NOT required. Delivery options for each phase of the program are listed below. |
Phase I (General Education): Courses in this phase are offered on-line by Ivy Tech Community College. In addition, students may complete this phase via traditional, on-campus study or (if applicable) transfer of previously earned credit from an associate or bachelor degree program. Note: Students also may complete Phase I course work by successfully passing end of course college equivalency examinations such as CLEP, DSST, and Excelsior College Examinations. Comprehensive Learning Modules (study guides) provided by The College Network help Indiana State University students prepare for and successfully complete these examinations. |
Phase II (Nursing Prerequisites): Courses in this phase may be satisfied entirely by ISU departmental challenge exams (credit by examination). With successful completion of departmental exams, no on-campus or on-line course work is required. |
Phase III (Baccalaureate-Level Nursing Courses): All required nursing courses are offered on-line (via the Internet) by Indiana State University. Clinical courses are arranged in the student's community.
