Public Art in Terre Haute and Elsewhere (Special Events)

            Attendance: 4

Presenter: Mary Kramer, Director of Art Space in Terre Haute

Mary Kramer will discuss different approaches to public art and more about current projects and future plans for Terre Haute.

Titzer Art Studios (Special Events)

            Attendance: 12

Presenter: Patrick and Karen Titzer, Owners/Operators of Titzer Art Studio                                   

Patrick and Karen will demonstrate traditional lamp work bead making with Venetian glass, and card stamping in their studio and gallery in Terre Haute.

The Art of Appraising (Lecture)

            Attendance: 55

Presenter: Laurette McCarthy, Senior Research Associate in American Art with Appraisal Associates International                           

This is a lecture on what a fine art appraiser is and does. It will take you through the fundamentals of a fine art appraisal and will provide you with a basic what information you should know before having a fine art appraisal done.

Getting Art Smart (Special Events)

            Presenter: Petra Nyendick, Owner/Operator of Halcyon Art Gallery

                 John Lustig, ISU Permanent Art Collection Curator, Artist     

            This will be a lecture/discussion panel on how an art gallery works from owner and staff to artists.

Original Prints - The What & How (Special Events)

            Attendance: 23

            Presenter: David Erickson, ISU Associate Professor of Art    

     Catherine Knight, Local Artist

David & Catherine will present a look at traditional fine art printmaking processes and how to recognize the difference between artist produced images and reproductions. They will demonstrate and discuss different printmaking technique

Eiteljorg Museum (Special Event)

            Attendance: 20

Visit to the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. There are three current exhibits at the museum: Ansel Adams in Yosemite - See the collection of 23 Ansel Adams photographs depicting the landscapes of Yosemite National Park; Our People, Our Land, Our Images - Explore the reclamation of Indigenous peoples visual representation through photography; Yosemite: Art of an American Icon - Explore Yosemite’s visual legacy through paintings, photography and Native American baskets.
