SMART BASICS FOR KIDS
For ages 7 through 12
Children will learn aesthetics, art production, art history and art
criticism with hands-on practice.
Drawing basics such as line, texture, and value will be
taught as well as painting strategies like color theory and mixing
will be demonstrated.
Students will learn composition and balance to add structure,
collage and assemblage to add dimensions.
Instructor: Connie Claypoole Maxwell, a visual
arts teacher, has exhibited her work in galleries in
Terre Haute.

Making a Market Basket
In this one-session workshop you will weave a
market basket with a filled woven bottom.
Basic under-over weaving, rimming, and lashing techniques
will be taught. You will
complete a basket in the class.
Instructors: Jean Wright
and Arlene Jennings are members of the Basketmakers of Indiana and
have been weavers over 20 years.

Supplies:
Please bring a 2-gallon pail, towel, tape measure, scissors,
and spray bottle.
A $15 materials fee is to be paid to the instructors the
first night of class.
