Distinguished Student Worker Awards

The Distinguished Student Awards are designed to honor the students who support the work of the university through their service to academic departments and administrative offices. These students make vital contributions to the university and some students are exceptional in their work.

We will be honoring our best student workers for 2008-2009 on Wednesday, April 8, 2008. The ceremony/ reception will be held in HMSU Dede III from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with the five most distinguished students receiving a certificate and a monetary gift.

Students may be nominated in one of five categories, depending on the length of service. These categories are:

1 - Less than one year service
2 - Between one and two years
3 - Between two and three years
4 - More than three years
5 - Graduate students

To nominate a student worker, please adhere to the following guidelines:

A panel of judges will select the most distinguished student worker in each category. The judging panel consists of five individuals, including representatives from faculty, administrative staff, support staff, and students. Each judge will rate the nominations independently. Ratings will be combined to determine the student to be honored in each category.

Multiple nominations from a department are permitted, but the strongest nominations are those that have broad support. Please confer with other staff in your area before making a nomination.
