Steve Baker serves as the Scientific and Research Systems Administrator for the Center for Instruction, Research, and Technology at Indiana State University. His responsibilities including maintaining and administrating the departmental Unix/Linux servers in the College of Arts and Sciences, and the High Performance Computing facilities here in IRTS while working closely with faculty to implement and solve their computational research problems.
Steve has been working at ISU in some form or another since 1988 when he first came to ISU as a student and began administrating Unix in 1989. Steve has worked full-time at ISU since April of 1997.
He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science which he obtained from ISU in 1993.
Steve has contributed actively to and maintains an interest in the Free Software Movement, donates his C and Unix programming talents, and works to further the goals of the movement.
