Les M. Lunce, Ph.D., joined the Center for Instruction, Research & Technology
as an Instructional Design Specialist in October 2007. Les collaborates with a
team of Instructional Design Specialist consulting with faculty member(s) to
support the design, development, and delivery of traditional and distance courses.
In addition, Les coordinates and assists instructors in the development and
delivery of on-line and web-enhanced courses and provide expertise and guidance
in a wide variety of instructional technology applications.
Beginning his academic background with BAs in Computer Science and Economics, Les
completed his MS in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems at the University of
North Texas in 2003. In 2007 Les completed his Ph.D. in Educational Computing,
also at the University of North Texas. Les’s dissertation topic and his
principle ongoing research interest focus on the design, deployment and assessment
of instructional simulations. Publications include articles and conference proceedings
on simulations, wayfinding in virtual worlds and multiple intelligence.
Les has lived and traveled extensively throughout Asia and the UK. His interests
include Medieval and Renaissance music, model railroading, cross-cultural experiences
and video games.
