Further details

CEP faculty are first certified by the appropriate academic chairperson before they can begin teaching for the program, and they must meet University-wide qualifications for teaching at Indiana State. To retain their positions, they must participate in the same yearly faculty evaluation process as do our on-campus instructors. A significant proportion of our CEP instructors also teaches on-campus, which helps ensure uniform course delivery.

CEP faculty and proctors receive day-long training at the beginning of the academic year to introduce them to staff, concepts, and procedures. Throughout the academic year, the CEP office and the College of Arts and Sciences rely on email distribution lists to make sure that information is communicated in a timely manner. A Blackboard site also serves as an online community for CEP faculty and staff to share concerns, post documents, and ask questions. In addition, the College hosts developmental workshops for CEP faculty and proctors, embracing topics such as assessment, grade inflation, syllabus design, and connecting with one’s academic department.
