Policies for Duplication Services and Usage
A variety of duplication services are available through the University Archives.
The University Archives has holdings that consist of many very unique photographic images and documents from a variety of collections. Archives will provide images for scanning from its holdings when possible, but reserves the right to deny or restrict reproduction of material due to condition, size, copyright, or donor requirements.
Duplication options include:
· Photocopies of photographs or documents.
· Digital scan files of photographs or documents.
· Photograph Prints: Color or Black & White.
Reproduction of Scanned Images:
Patrons must complete a “Request for Image Reproduction”.
Departmental staff will do all scanning for patrons.
Patrons will provide their own IBM formatted disk or CD.
- University Archives will not provide disks under any circumstances.
University Archives Service and Fee Schedule
Photocopies:
- $0.25 per page on-site request.
- $0.50 per photograph on-site request.
- $1.00 per page for off-site request.
- $2.50 per photograph for off-site requests.

Payment:
Payment must be received before materials are sent.
Payment can be made by cash, money order, or check.
Checks to be made out to the ISU University Archives.
Commercial Use
Must fill out a request for permission to publish, exhibit, or broadcast and a request for Image reproduction.
Fee Schedule for the Commercial Use of Archival Materials
Photocopies:
- Documents $1.00 per document
- Photographs $2.50 per image
Photographic Prints:

- Use fee for Publications $75.00 each, Multimedia $150.00 each.
Service Fees:
- Processing fee: $25.00 per research request.
- Fax Delivery: $2.50 per photo.
- Mail: Shipping & Handling: $10.00 per order.
Warning: The copyright law of the United States governs the making of copies or other reproduction of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for purposes other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a reproduction for purposes in excess of “Fair Use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
Indiana State University Archives reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order, if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve a violation of copyright law.
