The University's Library was completed in 1973 and dedicated in 1974.The structure houses nearly 2 million volumes arranged in an "open stack" configuration on five floors. The building is named for Arthur C. Cunningham A.M., who served as the first librarian for Indiana State Normal School. It was noted that Cunningham gave his house for the land to which the State Normal Library (Normal Hall) sits.
