For many years Indiana State University maintained a bookstore which was located in the Administration Building (Old Main), then named Indiana State Normal School.

In 1934 the building
(the former chapel) between the Residence Hall and Vocational Education
Building was bought by the school, and this new location was used for the
Bookstore.

Notes: The bookstore was on Sixth and Chestnut Streets. (These streets no
longer go through campus.) Bookstore operations leased to Barnes and
Noble, 1988.
The forth, and current, bookstore is located in the Commons of the Hulman Memorial Student Union.
